Farewell Prague

Here I am, sitting in my dorm room, next to my packed suitcase. The end has arrived. Classes are over, finals are done, and in 9 days i'll be back in the states.

While of course it is sad to be almost done with this experience, I am also looking forward to going home. The long days and heat have made us all tired and a nice five week summer is going to be very much enjoyed.

This last week has been one filled with visits to new destinations, shopping for souvenirs, and of course, preparing for finals. We went to Petrin Hill to see the "mini eiffel tower" one day during break. See the picture below....such an amazing view! We also visited Vysehrad, which is a hill over the river with great views and a cemetery and church at the top. (Also pictured below)

Even though the final for history was not what we all expected, my Art History final presentation went smoothly. My teacher for ARTH, Carol, is one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her passion for the subject matter was evident both in and out of class. She really cares about the students and helped make our experience be the best that it could be.

Tonight is our closing reception and the last time we will all be together. I will definitely be sad to say goodbye, but i'm very glad that most of the students go to Drexel so we will be able to keep in touch. Off to Munich, Germany in the morning,  (Early morning--a 7am train) then London after that.

Have fun and safe travels to all those traveling this coming week!

  1. It's so sad that we are all done! I am one of the ones that is heading home and I am excited. I am positive you will have a great time in your travels though. A lot of people are continuing to travel which, I think, is such a wise decision. It is so easy and convenient to travel after you are already over here in Europe. I had so much fun here and it is hard to look back on our experiences. The first day feels like just a week ago, but we have done so many things since then! I can't wait to see almost everyone at Drexel and will miss all of the UNO students! Safe travels Sam!

  2. I share these feelings completely! As nice as it is to have 5 weeks of summer, I miss Italy so much. Hope you had a great time in Germany and London!
